HOLD ON

Hurting from within,
bleeding and sobbing,
wounded by past hurts,
scared by past mistakes,
a story of one who had thought
that he had lost it all.

Hope in the distance over the horizon,
a mere shadow that disappears as
darkness fills up the sky.
Restoration, a slippery concept in the hands of the hopeless.

Sometimes it feels like the battle is won
some other days, it is a paradoxical feeling.
Happiness became a rare trend in my world.
I reminisce on the feeling that joy once brought,
a time when dependency was fuel to my contentment.
A time when laughter, peace of mind, well-being were within range.

Little did I know, opened that door to a stranger and offered tea,
they overstayed and depleted my energy.
Sadness submerged my sense of happiness,
suffocating my moments of exhilaration.
Sadly, this stranger grew and caused my happiness
to dissipate and left me here.

An opened door, a stranger in, a different story.
Negative thoughts trying to invade my room of safety,
feeling my sadness, blocking the rays of truth.
